Horse Riding is very popular at Wirraway.Horse riding at Wirraway is offered during camps here.

Horse Instructors at Wirraway Homestead are:

  • Accredited (or in training) with Horse Safety Australia
  • Qualified in Certificates III and /or IV in Outdoor Recreation
  • Trained in First Aid
  • Trained in safety
  • Experienced with beginners


Horse riding at Wirraway (during camps) offers:

  • Working with trained horses known by the staff
  • Appropriate activities for groups of beginners & lessons for new riders
  • Trail rides in 70 ha of hills, bush and farmland available for experienced riders
  • Demonstrations on horse training and psychology
  • Horse handling, grooming, leading and general horse skills are part of school camps
  • Wirraway’s theory and practical tests available for riders in school holiday camps: “Musters”
  • Volunteers and Work Experience students with pre existing horse riding skills are able to undertake units of competency covering Occupational Health and Safety, Horse Handling and Care, and Basic Riding Skills from the national Outdoor Recreation Training Package, through Wirraway Training our Registered Training Organisation.
