WIRRAWAY believes that a camper’s privacy is an important right that they have as an individual which is of high importance to them. We are committed to ensuring that personal information provided to us is treated professionally and is protected from unauthorised access.

 

Collection of Information

We will only collect necessary personal information directly from a camper or their parent/guardian, unless it is impractical or unreasonable to do so. At or before collection we will take reasonable steps to ensure that they are aware of the reason and purpose for collecting this personal information, and the extent to which that information may be disclosed.

We need to collect personal information from campers so that we can:

  • Make staff aware of the personal health needs of all campers to enable the staff to protect campers from situations where allergies or health issues could result in unacceptable physical or social outcomes
  • Contact parents/guardians in the event of an emergency

Generally the information that we collect comprises of name, address, age gender, emergency contact details (including home and/or work phone contacts, mobile numbers) and any health, dietary or social information relevant to a camper’s visit to Wirraway.

 

Use and Disclosure

Personal Information will only be used for the purpose it was given.

 

Quality and Security

We will make every reasonable effort to ensure the security of personal information held with us, and that this information is complete and accurate and up-to date when ever we collect or use it. If a camper finds that the personal information is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, we would like them to contact us immediately to rectify this situation. Private information will be destroyed when it is no longer required.

 

Access

WIRRAWAY will, upon request, provide a camper/parent or guardian, with access to their personal information which is held by us. WIRRAWAY will deal with a request to provide access to this personal information within a reasonable amount of time – usually within 3 days of the request.
